In 1948 a group of men are taken hostage in the Russian zone of Berlin. They include a Middle Eastern oil king and an African ruler, and all of them are in danger of being replaced by pro-Soviet rivals. The man chosen to rescue them is Barry Riordan, a veteran mercenary.
