Book, Theatre, and Wheel

by Karl Schroeder

Book review

Sir Neville Dumoutier has accompanied the Inquisition to a remote French village that has has recently begun sending strange missionaries into the outside world. These travelers bring only a set of loose pages that they call the Wheel of Books—though with it, they can work wonders. What Neville learns from Lady Romanal, keeper of the Book, about its purpose and potential is both worse than the the Inquisition's darkest fears—and more than he could ever have hoped for.
